Interior painting in the Bronx
Interior painting and wall repair across the Bronx. In a house painted many times over, the coat that matters is the one underneath.
Painting a house that has been decorated every few years for decades is mostly a question of what is already on the wall.
The stack
Old oil under newer latex, patched plaster that was filled rather than keyed in, and trim thick enough that the profile has closed up. Where that stack is sound it takes paint. Where it is failing, anything applied over it fails with it, and the only honest answer is to take it back.

Settlement cracks above openings and along ceiling junctions are common in this stock. Filling them flush buys about a year. They are opened, repaired and where necessary taped, which is what stops them reappearing along the same line.
Containment
Sanding old coatings makes fine dust, and in a two family it travels into the other household as easily as into yours. We seal the work area, protect the route in and out, and clean the shared parts at the end of each day.

Do you strip the old paint?
Only where it needs it, and we will show you why at the visit. Stripping sound paint is money wasted, and painting over failing paint is money wasted twice.
Can you do a few rooms at a time?
Yes, and in an occupied house it is usually the sensible way to run it.
